Profile

I am a consultant psychiatrist specialising in older adult’s mental health. I qualified as a doctor from Charing Cross Hospital Medical School in 1986. After further training as a physician I undertook training in psychiatry in Liverpool before a series of academic appointments at Charing Cross Hospital, Royal Free Hospital and then Imperial College London.

I have been a consultant psychiatrist at Central North West London Foundation Trust since 1998 specialising in diagnosis and treatment of dementia, depression, psychosis and other mental illnesses. My training as a physician as well as a psychiatrist enables me to provide holistic care for my patients.

I was elected as chair of the Faculty of Old Age Psychiatry at the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2012, I am the UK representative for Old Age Psychiatry in the World Psychiatric Association and was appointed National Professional Advisor for old age psychiatry at the Care Quality Commission in 2014. I am also the Medical Director of Halcyon Doctors.
